Welcome

Interesting Topic of the Month: March Holidays You Might Want to ...

Ere frost-flower and snow-blossom faded and fell, and the splendour of winter had passed out of sight, / The ways of the woodlands were fairer and stranger than dreams that fulfil us in sleep with delight.’
~Algernon Charles Swinburne

March has always been the month of inclement weather ands of course, NCAA basketball known as ‘March Madness.’  And here in 2024, we now have Women’s March Madness.  Go to live brackets here: https://www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live/bracket

The tournament began with eight teams playing against one another in 1939, where Oregon beat Ohio State to take home the first tournament title. Over the years, the tournament grew from an eight-team event to 16 in 19511The term “March Madness” was first used to refer to basketball by an Illinois high school official, Henry V. Porter, in 1939, but the term didn’t find its way to the NCAA tournament until CBS broadcaster Brent Musburger used it during coverage of the 1982 tournament.

Spring is a fine season – perhaps the most popular of the four seasons, when it comes to poets and their seasonal choice of subject. Winter has its devotees, but there’s something to be said for spring with its new life, warmer weather, and flowers and trees coming into leaf. Wordsworth’s enjoyment of spring is tinged somewhat by an inner sadness, especially when he reflects on ‘what man has made of man’. Here after three years of this maddening Socialist Biden administration, Quite. It would have been great, a testament to the ivory pillars of our nations capitol if we had other candidates to choose from but it is what is is. America has barely survived 4-years of Biden, it cannot survive another 4-years. WW3 is upon our doorstep as ISIS sponsored by Iraq/Syria have openly attacked Moscow. Right now the only one preventing WW3 today is Putin who could instead be nuking Iraq/Syria today. Putin showing restraint has vowed revenge and I can only imagine his vengeance will be as swift as it will be terrible.

The mocking, personal attacks, criminal trials and threatened financial ruin have continued as Trump swept all states in February to win GOP nomination as 2024 candidate. The Democrats are unhinged when it comes to the total destruction of Trump enlisting ASSWIPES like Jimmy Kimmel. Whoopi Goldberg and The View and others in the Dem hijacked media in their cause to rid America of Trump. Setting the bar for new ‘lows’ the Democrats ASSTARDS forget our children are watching and the pitiful example we adults are setting for them. All I can say is this: “It will NOT end well.”  The lies in the media, Microsoft Start Page, Yahoo News, Drudge Report, MSLSD, Washington Compost was so bad last week I had to take the weekend off for my sanity. It seems the shit was sooo deep the hip-waders weren’t working anymore.

And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow…
~A.E. Houseman

March” is named for the Roman god of war, Mars. However, we think of it as the beginning of spring, as March brings the vernal equinox, the Full Worm Moon and the return of Daylight Saving Time. I always forget to “spring ahead.” for some reason, Never fails every year. In the early Roman calendar, March (or Martius) was the first month of the calendar year. As March brought the first day of spring with the vernal equinox, it was the start of new beginnings.

See everyone in April. Although the weather this year (2024) has been somewhat of an April Fool’s joke.
